HEXstream's Specialist Earns Special Recognition
We couldn’t be more proud. Earlier this week HEXstream’s own Satish Saini was recognized by Ontario Premier Doug Ford for his selection to the United Nations Advisory Council to the secretary general on energy transition. Satish, a Canadian citizen, leads the United Nations Utilities T&D Energy Efficiency Working Group.
In addition to his roles with the UN, and as utilities industry specialist with HEXstream, Satish is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), where he chairs the Smart Grid Technical Activities Committee in spearheading new technologies and policies related to the smart grid, distribution automation, DERs, EVs and energy transition.
“I am honored by this recognition and excited to continue my work with these organizations,” said Satish. “The utilities space is rapidly changing, especially due to phasing out fossil-fuel sources from generation, the adoption of smart grid and DS automation, and renewable energy sources/DERs/EVs and related charging infrastructure. We have tremendous opportunities to generate and distribute energy more efficiently than ever. It is encouraging to see this enthusiasm for our efforts, and the global commitment to smarter approaches to energy to achieve our 2050 Net Zero emission targets.”
Satish is the only professional engineer from Canada selected to this UN council, where he is serving a two-year term. He is a valuable asset to the HEXstream team and our clients around the globe. Congrats Satish!
